It's-a-me, Maria Randazzo

Maria Randazzo is a New York-based writer, comedian, and actress. She just wrapped shooting a role in the indie comedy Basic, directed by Emmy-nominated writer and comedian Chelsea Devantez, which just had its world premiere at South by Southwest.

Most recently, Maria Randazzo was a staff writer on the Emmy-nominated Apple Original series
The Problem With Jon Stewart for which she earned two WGA award nominations.

You can catch her singing, dancing, and performing sketch comedy live on July 1 Joe's Pub in NYC in Boyband The Musical, a drag musical comedy parodying the music, masculinity, and culture of the late 90s and early 2000s.

Maria regularly performs live in the NYC sketch and improv scene, including a monthly spot in

Chris Gethard's That Show at UCB, where she brings absurd yet familiar characters and concepts to life.

Maria is also a moderator for Behind The Bangs, a creative writing program launched by the aforementioned Chelsea Devantez and her manager and producing partner, Jordan Moncada. As a moderator, Maria supports those enrolled in the program, empowering them to create their own work, tell their own story, and build community among each other.

Maria started her comedy career as a cast member and writer at The Second City in Chicago, earning praise from the Chicago Tribune as a “very notable up-and-comer" in the revue She The People. Maria was also a member of Second City's National Touring Company and understudied five Mainstage and e.t.c. revues. Maria also trained and performed at Chicago's iO Theater and the Annoyance Theater.

Maria appears in various commercial spots as well, so keep your eyes out for her in ads for

Wells Fargo, FanDuel, and Pepsi.

Maria's a native of Cleveland, Ohio, a graduate of Loyola Chicago, and climate change pending will retire in Miami to live the Golden Girls lifestyle of her dreams.
